WHAT IS HYDROTHERAPY?

Swimming is one of the best forms of exercise for your dog, the water allows an intensive form of exercise without any pressure on the joints and uses nearly all the muscles in the dogs body, it is a non-weight bearing/low impact form of exercise utilising the resistance of water.

Following Injury/surgery a full range of limb motion may not be possible on the ground , treatment in the hydrotherapy pool reduces the stress on the dogs joints/injury location, encouraging a better range of motion which then encourages muscle tone and tissue repair.

The hydrotherapy pool is kept at a constant 29-31 degrees, the warm water and the hydrostatic pressure of the water helps to promote blood circulation around the body, this helps to promote healing and can have a pain-relieving effect.

Hydrotherapy is not just for rehabilitation, it can also be used for fun and fitness too.  A safe and secure environment where you can exercise your pooch or have an introduction to swimming with a qualified member of staff.

We offer core conditioning sessions for sports or show dogs to aid us in getting the best performance out of your little star.  Currently working with Agility, Trails and Show dogs to get the best performance possible. Please contact us regarding personal programs to suite your needs.

This can also be a time to introduce your puppy to swimming in a safe environment with our qualified hydrotherapist.  Have piece of mind that your puppy will have confidence in water when out on walks or at the beach or walking through the Wolds.
